Well, I had been looking forward to it for ages, (since December 2006 actually when late Father-in-Law bought tickets for us). The Wife as usual played it down, yeah, yeah, I am not bothered if I go or not. The BIG event, SIR ELTON in PLYMOUTH – I have seen Elton a few times but the thought of seeing him so local got me really excited!!

It’s 5pm Saturday evening and we have just arrived at the box office to receive our tickets; and find out where we are sitting. (Elton’s Fan Club tickets, you get to find out on the day). Well, we were not disappointed – 14 rows back from Elton and bang in line with him and his Grand Piano.

The Story’s opened for Elton; I was looking forward to this as I had seen them before with Elton in Taunton. Check them out at www.thestorys.co.uk, they also did not disappoint.

The moment came for Elton to grace the stage to the sound of my absolute favourite haunting starter ‘Funeral For A Friend’. There he was, the MEGASTAR that is SIR ELTON JOHN looking well up for the show. He played classics such as ‘All The Young Girls Love Alice’, and ‘Madman Across The Water’. It just got better and better and yes, you guessed it, even the wife started dancing and singing along. We managed to get right down near the front towards the end as you can see from the pictures.

All in all this was an absolutely CAPTAIN FANTASTIC night from a true Megastar in our wonderful city of Plymouth, God Bless all who sail in her (Plymouth that is) lol.
